Why rough it? Take a seat in the lap of luxury and enjoy all the room, convenience, and comfort you could want while visiting the Ozarks. The elegance and spaciousness of Azalea Falls Lodge, with its secluded wooded setting and its own soothing waterfall, let you leave the rugged outdoors outside when you're ready to unwind in the evening. There is just as much deck as there is house in this gracious structure of wood, stone and glass, so whether you want to sun outside or curl up indoors, all the options are open.Nestled in a small Ozarks cove, the lodge is a perfect secluded getaway for a honeymoon, an anniversary celebration or a small, but lavish, wedding. However, this 3000 square foot home is also large enough for family reunions, a small church group or a business retreat. One side stretches out to touch the hillside with shaded decks, rock gardens, rustic steps and paths. The other side suspends itself in the sun and overlooks the waterfall and a hollow with rock bluffs and a wooded creek running through it. Just three-tenths of a mile off of Highway 21, Azalea Falls is located between two of Arkansas' premier float streams, the Buffalo National River and the Kings River, where the fishing, swimming, canoeing, hiking and trail riding opportunities are almost limitless. Add the nearby Ozark National Forest and Upper Buffalo Wilderness and our own 90 acres and the whole outdoors becomes a vast playground. Inside, there is a fully equipped kitchen, three bedrooms, each with a private deck, a dining room, entertainment room and a living room with a fireplace. The lodge will sleep up to 12 with the couches that make into beds. Gleaming hardwood floors and lavish use of native stone, not only in the two fireplaces, but as structural columns throughout the house, are touches that go well with the artwork and antiques. Many of the antiques are family heirlooms and are as solid and functional as they are beautiful. There is central heat and air and an outside barbecue grill and dining area. Laundry facilities are also available on the premises. The master bedroom has a Jacuzzi, its own fireplace and sitting room and a carved wooden screen that can be used for privacy if you wish to make an extra bed out of the comfortable couch. Our kitchen has all the dishes and cookware you'll need, and there is also a very nice set of dishes and silverware for special occasions. We have a range, dishwasher, microwave and trash compactor. You don't even have to bring the groceries. Give us advance notice and your list and, for a small fee, we will do the shopping and have the food in stock. We can also take care of the catering arrangements for a wedding or other special event. Pick one of our glorious fall weekends and throw a gala celebration on our deck. Bring your computer if you like. There is a phone connection for Internet access. Our den also has satellite television, VCR and stereo. Our own trail goes across the hollow, along the creek and up over the waterfall, a pleasant family outing that begins right from your front door. There is a place that's perfect to train beginning rock climbers and we offer that service as well as guided hikes and rock climbing in the area. Day trips to scenic locations can be arranged when you make your reservations. Azalea Falls Lodge is 4 miles northwest of Boxley and 6 miles southeast of Kingston on Arkansas Highway 21. AttractionsCanoe rental and shuttle service is available locally for floating and fishing on the Buffalo National River and the Kings River. Both are famous for smallmouth bass, but also offer catfish, redear, and largemouth bass. The Victorian spa city of Eureka Springs is 45 miles away with the Great Passion Play, galleries, shows and crafts. The country music capital of Branson, Missouri is about a 90 minute drive. Two local outfitters provide trail-riding opportunities. Hiking trails abound on the Buffalo National River and Ozark National Forest. Shopping, restaurants and entertainment are available at Jasper, 25 miles, and Harrison, 30 miles. Some nationally known local artists reside and work in this area and welcome visitors from our lodge. There is great antique shopping in Kingston, Harrison and Eureka Springs. Bird watchers can explore our own acres or surrounding public lands for some great opportunities and wildlife is plentiful. We're near places where you may see our Arkansas elk herd. Our own gift shop offers some of the finest in crafts and gifts. Rates
